Laney Lai, also known as apileofmud, is a 3D Artist based in New York City, originally from China. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2019 and has been working in the commercial animation industry.
Outside of her commercial work, she continues to utilize the digital medium as her creative outlet. Her artworks explore the visualization of personal feelings and abstract formations, comprising biomorphic, organic shapes. Seeking to evoke a sense of calm and gentleness in the hustle of city life with a full-time job, she emphasizes transcendental dream-like qualities in her work, bridging digital realms into the real world.
